In conversation with Francesco Manacorda
Giorgio Griffa speaks to the director of the Castello di Rivoli, giving us insight into the physical and philosophical dimensions of his art studio. A journey exploring his artistic practice of painting simple signs potentially “belonging to any hand,” on unprimed canvases and paper, using brushes, watercolors, inks, and pencils—all traditional tools of the painter.
This is the third date in a line up of four Studio Talks organized by the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art at the Arena of Gallerie d’Italia (Piazza San Carlo 156, Turin)—four talks and cocktails with Guglielmo Castelli, Tomás Saraceno, Giorgio Griffa, and Elena Mazzi.
Studio Talks gives the audience the chance to visit, before the talks, the exhibitions Mitch Epstein. American Nature and Antonio Biasiucci. Arca, on show at the gallery.
